All Nicholas County extra-curricular activities are canceled for Friday January 10, and Saturday January 11, 2025 due to a winter storm warning.

Nicholas County Schools are closed Thursday January 9, 2025. This is snow packet day #3. The board meeting and expulsion hearings scheduled to begin at 10 am will still occur.

All extra-curricular actives in Nicholas County are canceled today. There will be no practices or games.

After meeting with the National weather service, Nicholas County Schools will operate on a regular schedule tomorrow November 21, 2024. We will be observing the weather and adjust the school schedule according to how the weather moves in. At this point in time there is a chance we will be releasing 3 hours early. Please plan accordingly in the event we must do that. By attending a school on a normal schedule we will not have to use one of our bank time days.

Do you understand the risks of letting your child play seemingly benign games like Roblox? Did you know your children are at risk of being charged with creating, possessing and trafficking child pornography because of photos they could be taking, sending, and receiving on their smartphones?
If you are surprised or confused by these statements, or just want to learn more about the cyber world in which our children are living, please attend nationally recognized speaker Jesse Wineberger's session tonight at the Summersville Arena and Conference Center @ 6 PM. This is a free event and encourage you to come and bring as many families as possible!

There has been a change to the lunch menu for this week!

Dear Families,
We sincerely apologize for the buses running late this afternoon. We understand how concerning and inconvenient this can be. Initially, we weren’t aware that all the buses were delayed, but as soon as we found out, we did our best to inform everyone via ClassDojo. We appreciate your understanding and patience.
Thank you!

Willy Wonka Woes....Unfortunately, due to the forecast of rain and wind tomorrow, we are going to reschedule the Willy Wonka movie event for tomorrow evening as safety is our top priority for all of our students and families. We are planning to reschedule it in the spring.

School Pictures are being postposed right now. We will let you know when they have been rescheduled. Thank you and sorry for any inconvenience.

Per: Terrence Beam, Superintendent / We have been dealing with an alleged threat to one of our schools. As a result, I made the decision to cancel school, practices, and games for today, Thursday, September 12, 2024. The investigation has continued throughout the day, and it is clear that several counties in WV received the same type of threat. The investigation is ongoing and there are individuals that have been or will be interviewed by the local police departments. I meet with representatives from the Nicholas County Sheriff's Department, the Summersville City Police Department, the Director of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and have spoken with the local State Police Detachment. After much discussion, it has been determined that no viable threat exists for our students and staff and that school will resume as normal tomorrow, Friday September 13, 2024. There will be added security at our schools tomorrow. It is important for parents and students to understand that we take all threats to our schools seriously and if a student or employee is directly involved in a school threat, we will move to expel that student or terminate that employee immediately. These threats are no joke, (regardless of their intent) and they cause a lot of concern for everyone involved and that type of behavior will not be tolerated. We appreciate your understanding during this stressful time.
